A goal of the Creekside Middle School Library is for students to learn and practice self-selection of reading materials. To support the wide range of ages, maturity levels, and interests of our middle school students, books selected for the CMS Library collection and digital subscription services typically include those designated for grades 5-8 or for grades 8 and up; these are also known as Young Adult (YA) books. Students and parents/guardians should understand that YA books may contain language, violence, or mature situations that are for more mature readers. As the CMS Library strives to meet the needs of all our students, the library collection includes a wide variety of subjects and maturity levels. Parents/guardians are expected to discuss what is acceptable with their children and students are expected to know and follow those family guidelines when borrowing any library materials.
